ATTENTION! This is somewhat of a serious post about healthy living.
Recently, I haven't been eating as healthily as I usually do and I haven't really been exercising as much either. Because I have been cursed with Michelin Man genetics, these two components of my life need to be in order so I don't end up looking like this:
Crisis occurred on a rainy, Monday afternoon shopping adventure (today, June 29, 2015). A mini muffin top appeared while I was trying on a pair of Country Road jeans in my usual size. As I stared at my reflection, my stage mother (yes, I have a stage mother) standing behind me, gave this subtle judgemental look. She CLAIMS to not have given said look, but I know what I saw. I saw the wow-those-are-a-bit-tight-on-you-aren't-they look. I was crushed. Not just by my mother's look, but also by the fact that I could see the evidence staring back at me.
As for the rest of the shopping trip? Well let's just say I acted like a child who didn't get a Kinder Surprise at the grocery shop check-out. WAHHHHH!
So I'm probably being a little bit dramatic and people may think I'm crazy. I actually haven't put on that much weight. I am not fat and I'm not saying that I need to be really thin. At the end of the day, it's about confidence in your own body. Today I had none. With my body shape, a little extra blubber makes a huge difference! Others may not see it, but I sure do.
I need to get fit. I need to tone up. I need to stop thinking about eating burgers all the time!
So here we go, Aya's hot tips on how to "Ditch the Mich":
1. 30-40 minutes of exercise, 4 times a week. Variety is key e.g. walks, bootcamp, boxing, circuit training, bike rides.
2. No more chocolate. Well, maybe a little bit on the weekend as a treat.
3. Don't be lazy. If you have a bootcamp or training session early in the morning and all you want to do is sleep, GET UP YOU MAGGOT.
4. Burgers aren't sandwiches. Yep.
5. On a busy day for work, Maccas or Truck Stop food must not be consumed. The chicken, isn't really chicken so stop passing it off as "protein".
6. When eating out, try not to get a banquet-sized meal for yourself. Go for the healthier, reasonably sized option i.e. salad, or meat with salad. NO DESSERTS.
7. Don't always eat what your boyfriend eats. Fact: boys eat a lot of food and a lot of crap food.
So if you feel like you've let yourself go and you've had a hissyfit about clothes not fitting properly, please, join me in these awesome 7 steps and we will ditch that bitch of a mich together!
GIRL POWER!
